Key responsibilities include: Manage litigation and claims from start to resolution with a focus on efficiency and strategy. Provide legal support and risk management advice to business units and leadership. Lead internal and regulatory investigations, and represent the company in mediations and hearings. Select, oversee, and guide outside counsel to ensure effective and cost-conscious representation. Monitor legal and regulatory developments, advising on potential business impacts. Prepare reports and updates for senior leadership on litigation exposure and trends. Develop and deliver training programs on risk prevention and compliance. Mentor and oversee team members handling subpoenas, discovery, and records requests. Basic Requirements for the Assistant General Counsel: 5+ years of litigation experience in a mid-to-large law firm or in-house Experience managing litigation in an in-house role preferred Industrial, energy and/or construction experience is a plus Exceptional communication, negotiation and analytical abilities Outstanding written and verbal communication skills JD from a top ABA-accredited law school Licensed to practice law in any state Outstanding professional references Candidates must be located in San Antonio, TX, or willing to relocate for this role. Position Details of the Assistant General Counsel: Type of role: Direct-Hire In-House Counsel Schedule: Full-time Location: Onsite (San Antonio, TX) Compensation: Pay: The base salary range for this role is anticipated to be $185,000 - $225,000 or more plus bonus.
