Job Title: Plumbing Shop Supervisor Job Description The Plumbing Shop Supervisor is responsible for planning, assigning, and inspecting the work of Technicians, Maintenance Mechanics, and Plumbers who maintain and repair HVAC and plumbing equipment throughout the facility. This role involves significant independence within established policies, focusing on unit goals and staff training, while reporting to the Associate Director of Plant Operations. Responsibilities Schedule, coordinate, and supervise the installation and maintenance of HVAC and plumbing systems. Develop and improve preventive maintenance programs for plumbing systems and HVAC equipment. Work efficiently with building automation systems and coordinate repairs and modifications. Procure supplies and materials for daily operations. Improve operations and streamline work processes to enhance customer service. Make decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion, and termination of employees. Review and inspect new buildings for compatibility with existing codes and standards. Prepare labor and material estimates, and review employee labor records. Ensure budgeting guidelines are met and assist in preparing capital and operations budgets. Research new operational methods and recommend their application. Manage HVAC and plumbing installations and repairs performed by outside contractors. Assist in capital planning for long-term system upgrades or replacements. Interpret policies and enforce safety regulations and codes. Troubleshoot technical problems within HVAC and control systems. Maintain campus steam and chilled water metering systems. Proactively identify and resolve potential issues. Adhere to bargaining unit contract rules. Utilize timekeeping systems for accurate reporting. Work overtime and respond to emergency calls as needed. Essential Skills HVAC management Facilities maintenance Journeyman Plumber license Troubleshooting Electrical and Mechanical knowledge Preventive maintenance Maintenance technician experience Building Automation and Energy Management systems CMMS systems Additional Skills & Qualifications High School diploma or GED 10 years of plumbing experience 5 years of supervisory experience Experience with pneumatic and direct digital control systems Journeyman Plumbing License required Valid driver’s license Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
