Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join the team at downtown Colorado Springs office. This role is ideal for someone with strong in-house payroll processing experience and a solid understanding of payroll laws and compliance standards, including FLSA. The right candidate will have the opportunity to transition into a permanent role after a successful temporary assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process end-to-end payroll, including summarizing, examining, posting, verifying, and reconciling payroll data.
• Maintain accurate annual and quarterly payroll reports, ensuring all payroll transactions are fully documented.
• Coordinate, calculate, and post payroll-related adjusting entries to appropriate subaccounts with supervisory approval.
• Reconcile various reports such as taxes, retirement contributions, and vendor payments.
• Recommend and document improvements to payroll processing procedures and workflows.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of prior payroll experience required (not necessarily ADP).
• In-house payroll experience is essential.
• Experience with Lawson Software is preferred.
• Strong understanding of payroll-related laws, tax regulations, and FLSA compliance.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred but not required.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite at our Colorado Springs office .
