Local Contract Physicist - $190-200 per hour at Nightingale Nurses summary: This role is a local contract position for a Therapeutic Radiologic Physicist specializing in radiation therapy equipment and patient treatment in Augusta, Maine. The physicist will work with advanced linear accelerators and dosimetry teams to support about 800 patients annually in a clinical setting. The position requires board certification or eligibility in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics and involves working alongside oncologists, therapists, and nurses in a multidisciplinary team for a 13-week duration. Job Description & Requirements ~ Specialty: Physicist ~ Discipline: Allied Health Professional ~ Start Date: 09/08/2025 ~ Duration: 13 weeks ~40 hours per week ~ Shift: 10 hours, days ~ Employment Type: Local Contract Additional Job Description: Board certified or board eligible as a Therapeutic Radiologic Physicist by The American Board of Radiology (ABR) or by The American Board for Medical Physics (ABMP). On Staff: There are three physicists, one is the chief and RSO. 4 dosimetrist, 1 is as needed. 2 oncologists. 10 therapists and 3 nurses. Equipment: Two 4.1 true beam, with 6dof couch, both held at srs and SABR tolerance. Only one linac has Rt vision, and used for DIBH. Each linac has an average of 30patients. Annual patient load for both is about 800 pts a year. Gamma med HDR, and only perform GYM procedures. A discovery CT with deviceless 4D.
