About the Role:
We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial reporting. This role will oversee all aspects of accounting, payroll, tax compliance, and financial analysis, while supporting leadership with timely insights for decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage and improve accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including preparation and filing of returns.
Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
Provide analytical review of financial results, including variance analysis and recommendations for improvement.
Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with leadership.
Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
Mentor and support accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
CPA license strongly preferred.
Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or controller role.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Strong proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks experience a plus) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
